Circuit Clerk's
Office Will No Longer be Open on Saturdays

As the newly elected Macon County Circuit Clerk, it is my goal and
desire to economically, and efficiently serve the needs of the
residents of Macon County. Prior to my election to this
position, the Macon County Circuit Clerk’s Office was open for three hours on Saturdays. Since I have been elected, I have had the opportunity to observe this operation, and have noted that it is a very expensive endeavor to be open on Saturdays, and that we are only serving two to three residents during the Saturday hours. Therefore, the last Saturday that the Circuit Clerk’s Office will be open for business is March 7, 2009.
The Circuit Clerk’s Office will continue to accept payments in a drop box on the west side of the Courthouse. The drop box is accessible twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week. It is my sincere belief that eliminating Saturday hours is in the best interest of the taxpayers of Macon County, and that the Macon County Circuit Clerk’s Office will strive to continue to provide efficient service during these difficult economic times.
